You’ve probably heard of a few of those things, but did you know that Earl Hyman appeared in movies and television shows before you even heard of any of these things? Earl Hyman made his broadway debut in 1943 appearing in the play Run, Little Chillin. From there, the actor had a long successful career in theater. Hyman’s theater career took him as far as Norway, where he was well known and respected as an actor. Hyman stepped into the television show arena in 1968 when he appeared in an adaption of Macbeth. Hyman appeared in tv adaptions of Julius Ceasar (1979) and Coriolanus in 1979 also. Hyman also appeared in the television show The Edge Of Night in 1985. Hyman was probably best known for his role on The Cosby Show as Russell Huxtable, father to Heathcliff Huxtable and grandfather to the Huxtable kids.
Hyman died at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood, New Jersey on Friday night. No cause of death has been given at this time. Rest in peace Earl Hyman.
