Model, Keri Claussen Khalighi accused early hip-hop influencer, and Def Jam co-founder and former owner, Russell Simmons of sexually assaulting her. The alleged assault took place in 1991. Khaligi also claimed that Hollywood director Brett Ratner watched the whole thing go down.
CBS News (@cbsnews) reports, Khaligi told The L.A. Times (@latimes) that she was at Simmons’ New York City apartment where he was showing her a music video with Hollywood director Brett Ratner in tow. Khaligi told the L.A. Times that Simmons began pulling her clothes off, so she looked over at Ratner and said “help me.” Khaligi told the L.A. Times “I’ll never forget the look on his face. In that moment, the realization fell on me that they were in it together.” Khaligi said Simmons tried to force her to have intercourse, but she “fought it wildly.” Khaligi says that Simmons then coerced her into performing oral sex on him.
Uncle Russ remembered the encounter with Khaligi differently.
Simmons says that he and Khalig basically kicked it for a weekend. During their time together that weekend, the two engaged in “completely consensual” sexual intercourse, among other things, like going out to a nightclub.
