U.S. GYMNASTICS DOCTOR WHO IS ACCUSED OF MOLESTING U.S GYMNAST SENTENCED TO 60-YEARS IN PRISON FOR SEPARATE CHILD PORN CHARGES

Larry Nassar, the U.S. Olympic doctor who was accused of molesting U.S. gymnasts Mckayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, and probably others, has been sentenced to serve 60-years in a federal prison by a federal judge on Thursday afternoon. Not for the charges of molesting the young gymnast. The 60-year prison sentence Nassar received this afternoon was for a separate charge. This one, child pornography.

NBC News (@nbcNews) reports, the sentencing of Nassar this afternoon, is the first of three prison sentences Nassar will receive behind child molestation and other charges. The sentences for molesting gymnast and child pornography cases will keep Nassar behind bars probably for the rest of his natural life. Prosecutors got what they asked for when they suggested a 60 year prison term for Nassar, who had more than 37,000 images of child porn on electronic devices.

U.S. District Judge Janet Neff followed the government’s recommended sentence, saying Nassar “should never again have access to children.” Nassar will be sentenced in state court in January for separate charges of molesting gymnast with his hands. Olympians Aly Raisman, Mckayla Maroney, and Gabby Douglas say the were all victims when Nassar worked for USA Gymnastics and accompanied them at workouts or International events.
