There’s a good reason why some people live by the rule “never bring a first date to your house.” Obviously, Texas attorney Anthony Buzbee is not one of the people who live by that rule. He invited a woman into his home on a first date, and paid for it, big time.
BuzzFeed News (@BuzzFeedNews) reports, Buzbee alleges that a woman destroyed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of art in his house, including two original Andy Warhol paintings, after getting drunk on a first date.
Prosecutors said in court Wednesday that 29-year old, Dallas court reporter, Lindy Lou Layman, was on a date with Buzbee on December 23rd when she allegedly went on the destructive spree. Buzbee told police that Layman became intoxicated, hid from him inside of his own $14 million mansion, and, when he tried to get her an Uber ride home, she started attacking his valuable art. Layman was charged with felony criminal mischief after allegedly tearing three paintings off the wall, pouring an unidentified liquid on them, and destroying two abstract sculptures by throwing them across the room. Prosecutors said two of the paintings alone were valued at about $500,000 apiece. The sculptures were worth about $20,000 apiece. Layman was released in lieu of $30,000 bail. This may be related, it may be unrelated, but I believe it’s worth noting that Buzbee is a Trump supporter, who once hosted a fundraiser for “The Donald” at his plush Texas mansion. Maybe the Lindy Lou Layman chick is not as crazy as I originally thought she was.
