Money to help out after devastating hurricanes ravaged Puerto Rico? Problem. Money for an ego-stroking “military parade” down the streets of Washington D.C? No problem at all. There is no bigger issue the Country faces today bigger than the lack of a military parade to stroke the fragile ego of Cadet Bone-Spurs. Not the volatile stock market, not the threat of Russia tampering in our elections again, not that dreamers are still in limbo as they await a decision on their future in the Country. None of this is more important than a military parade that is not even about the military. Trump wants a military parade to praise himself as a king and dictator. Just like what North Korea does for Kim Jung-un. The really crazy part? There are a bunch of willing participants who want to join in on the ego-stroking.
CNN (@cnn) reports, Donald Trump has asked for a military parade and the Pentagon is reviewing potential dates, Pentagon spokesman Charlie Summers said Tuesday.
“President Trump is incredibly supportive of America’s great service members who risk their lives every day to keep our country safe. He has asked the Department Of Defense to explore a celebration at which all Americans can show their appreciation.” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said of the planned event.
Trump told the Pentagon that he wanted a parade last month. The orders from the president of the United States were “I want a parade like the one in France.” A military official said. The parade in France referred to France’s Bastile Day parade that Trump attended last year. At the time, he called the parade one of the greatest parades he’d ever seen.
The Washington Post and some former military personnel has estimated the cost of shipping tanks and other military hardware could easily run up into the millions of dollars. Millions of dollars that military official have said they have no idea how to pay for. Maybe Trump’s administration will cut Veteran’s Benefits to pay for a military parade. I’m sure they could find a few million dollars there. That seems like something this backward-ass administration would definitely do. They remind me of the story of the guy who sold his car for gas money.
