NEW ORLEANS, LA
3 people were killed and 7 more were injured after gunfire erupted outside of a daiquiri shop in New Orleans, just about three miles from the French Quarter.
NBC News (@NBC News) reported, police accounts believe that there were two shooters. Police also believe that the reckless attack was personal.
“Two individuals clothed with what we believe to be hoods, approached from behind, right in front of the daiquiri shop right behind us, and opened fire, one with, we believe, a rifle and one with a handgun on the crowd. We believe they actually stood over one of the individuals and fired multiple rounds and then after that fled. This has to be personal. Firing indiscriminately into a crowd? Shooting 10 people? Killing three? That’s personal, it doesn’t get more personal and we take it personal, whoever did this, you should know that the law enforcement takes it personal and we’re coming for you.” New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harris told reporters on Saturday.
Two women and one man were pronounced dead at the scene. The seven injured were taken to area hospitals to be treated. One person remains in critical condition.
