Louisville men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino told members of his coaching staff in a meeting this morning that he expects to be fired as soon as today. This comes on the heels of multiple arrest yesterday in a wide-ranging federal investigation into fraud and corruption in college basketball recruiting.

The FBI probe focused on coaches being paid tens of thousands of dollars to point recruits in the direction of sports agents, financial advisers, and apparel companies, including Adidas. Pitino claimed no knowledge of the scandal, but the FEDS announced yesterday that the probe was wide ranging. Yesterday the FEDS arrested and announced corruption charges against four assistant coaches: Auburn’s Chuck Person, Oklahoma State’s Lamont Evans, Arizona’s Emanuel Richardson, and USC’s Tony Bland. The FEDS hinted that there was a school in Kentucky in their sights, but didn’t specifically mention Louisville by name. Federal prosecutors also said that they have wiretaps, plants, and other sources of information. The Louisville men’s basketball team is currently on probation and Pitino is facing suspension stemming from a sex scandal investigation.

Just days after Dwayne Wade and the Chicago Bulls agreed to a buyout, Wade has reportedly signed a one year, $2.3 million deal with the Cleveland Cavs. Wade will rejoin his friend, and former Miami Heat teammate Lebron James down in Cleveland. The 35 year old Wade will also share the court with newly signed Isiah Thomas and Jae Crowder, also Tristan Thompson, J.R. Smith, and Kevin Love. The Cavs look pretty good on paper. How that transfers to the court could be a whole other thing. With three new pieces to the puzzle, it will surely take the Cavs a little time before the chemistry takes form. Who will have the ball in their hands to take the final shot with the clock running down? Who will be willing to sacrifice being the star player on the team, and possibly playing time, for the sake of the team’s chemistry? That’s if it needs to come to that. Would Wade be willing to come off of the bench and lead the second unit, or will that be JR Smith’s new role? Don’t forget. The Miami Heat did not win the championship the first year they put the super team of Wade, Bosh, and Lebron James together. If my memory serves me correctly, they lost a lot of games they should’ve won that year around the time that they were still trying to figure out what the chemistry of the team was. Maybe this will be different. Maybe these players will mesh and gel right away. I don’t know. The one thing I do know is, whatever this team is going to do, it has to do it now. I doubt if you will see these same players back with the Cavs next season. Isiah-maybe, Love-50/50, Thompson-maybe, Smith-50/50, Wade & James-highly doubt it.

Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller’s protesting police brutality by taking a knee before Sunday’s game may have cost him an endorsement deal. Phil Long Ford in Denver said that it would not be continuing it’s sponsorship agreement with Miller, the Super Bowl 50 MVP and enormously popular athlete in the Denver area. A spokesman for the car dealer said that they weren’t firing Miller, but they were in a contract renewal negotiation and Miller kneeling for the anthem caused them to cut that off. Von Miller’s popularity swelled after the Broncos beat the Panthers in Super Bowl 50 and Miller took home the MVP. Miller took full advantage of the opportunities that were presented to him, from being a contestant on “Dancing With The Stars”, to pretty much becoming the face of Old Spice. Von Miller may lose this endorsement with the local dealership, but I doubt that Miller’s pockets will take that much of a hit for it. I actually think that the dealership losing a populat star athlete like Miller as a representing face of the brand, will hurt them more than it will hurt Miller. Only time……and sales will tell.

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Khloe Kardashian is pregnant. The father of the child is reportedly Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson. The two have been dating for about a year. An unnamed source and close friend of Khloe’s said that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is about three months pregnant.  This news comes on the heels of news that little sister Kylie is pregnant with her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott’s child. Sister Kim is also expecting her third child. This time around, by a surrogate. Tristan Thompson has a 9 year old son, Prince, with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig.
