BROWARD COUNTY, FL
Bill K. Kapri is a free man. I know you’re asking, “who the hell is Bill Kapri?” That’s your boy Kodak, who legally changed his name while he was in the bing.
Florida local news station, WPLG Local 10 News (@WPLGLocal10) reported, Kodak Black walked out of jail early Saturday morning and hopped into a black Bentley sport utility vehicle without saying much to the hordes of media that awaited him outside the jail.
“I don’t really talk too much” was all Kodak had to say to the press before he jumped in the Bentley truck and reportedly made his way to his mothers’ house to see his son.
Kodak Black pled guilty to possession of a firearm by a felon. He reportedly used his time behind bars wisely, earning his G.E.D and participating in other programs. While this chapter of his legal battles are over, Kodak still has a pending case in South Carolina. That one is for an alleged sexual assault. No word yet on when he will be headed to the studio, but fans of the 21-year old rap star is hoping it will be soon.
20-year old rapper XXXtentacion was shot in South Florida this afternoon in what police dispatchers reported as a possible “drive-by” shooting.
According to reports from TMZ (@tmz), X was reportedly shopping for a motorcycle. As he sat in his car about to leave, a gunman ran up to the car and let off multiple shots. X was rushed to the hospital by the Broward County Fire Department. His condition is unknown at this time. Witnesses say they heard multiple gunshots. The alleged shooter or shooters fleed the scene in a black vehicle. Witnesses say X appeared lifeless as his body sat slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle. Once again, there has been no official word of his condition, these are just witness accounts.
Broward County Sheriffs pronounced XXXtentacion dead at 5:40 pm est
Since the shooting at Parkland High School in Florida that killed 17 people, many have suggested that guns weren’t the problem at all. They said we needed more guns to combat gun violence. As a matter of fact, some have even suggested arming teachers to confront a deranged shooter with a high caliber weapon. The argument is that, if the shooter fears that teachers and other personnel were armed, that would discourage them from going on a rampage at that location, even better, the armed personnel and teachers could quickly neutralize the threat. Something like that may work. But the people who came up with this brilliant idea forgot one important thing. HUMAN NATURE. Tough talk, carrying a gun, and even having the willingness to fire that gun is all good until you hear the sound of bullets flying from a high-powered assault weapon. High-powered assault weapons that shoot dozens of rounds per minute. The kind of shooting that will make a person take cover and beg for the gunfire to end. Faced with a threat of that nature, all of that tough talk goes out the window sometimes. If we’re being completely honest….everybody says that they would run into a burning building to save someone. But how many people have actually been in that situation and done exactly what they’d always preached? You never really know what you will do, until you are put in a situation. And the moment you are, you may not like what you find out about yourself. Like the “armed and trained” resource officer who was on duty the afternoon a 19-year old maniac came running into a school firing off rounds from a high-powered assault rifle, as he gunned down student after student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida last week.
The New York Daily News (NYdailynews), reports, the school resource officer on duty when a gunman killed 17 people at a Florida high school found a safe spot outside the building and did absolutely nothing, officials said Thursday.
Scot Peterson resigned after video surfaced of him outside the school on Feb. 14 when Nikolas Cruz was inside the building letting off multiple rounds from an AR-15, said Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel. Israel said Peterson remained outside of the building for about four of the six minutes Cruz was inside killing students with an assault rifle. When asked what Peterson should’ve done, Israel bluntly said
“Went in. Addressed the killer. Kill the killer.”
How many times do stories like these need to be reported before we finally get it? How many dozens of lives must be senselessly lost in one tragic event before we finally get it? How many times are our lawmakers going to give their “prayers and condolences” and continue to do nothing afterward before we finally get it? Guns are made for killing. Stupid people with guns will surely kill. Stupid people with automatic weapons that shoot multiple shots in a matter of seconds, will continue to kill people in droves. Why do we continue to allow people to possess automatic weapons that shoot multiple rounds in a matter of seconds? The simple answer. MONEY. More specifically, blood money. Every Congressman who has taken “donations” from the NRA has blood on their hands and their conscious as they stand up and offer their “thoughts and prayers” after every one of these senseless tragedies. Still, having blood on their hands and their conscious is not enough to get them to enact a common sense law outlawing automatic weapons or even get them to speak out against automatic weapons. Getting some more of that blood money from the NRA is more important than doing something that will certainly prevent this from happening again. And they’re obviously okay with that.
CNN (@cnn) reports, that Nikolas Cruz, 19, allegedly gunned down students and staff with an AR-15 assault rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida shortly before 3pm after activating a fire alarm, sending people outside, totally unaware of what was waiting for them when they got outside. Cruz reportedly fired shot after shot outside, and then followed others who ran back inside of the building, where people who had heard the shots were taking cover. There, he roamed the halls he know so well as a former student, allegedly targeting those huddled in classrooms, and then blending in with the students and staff evacuating the school. Cruz was arrested in the neighboring community of Coral Springs later on in the day, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.
In 2017 the FBI received information about a comment on a YouTube channel that read: “I’m going to be a professional school shooter.” The FBI did a database review when they received the information, but could not identify the person who had made the comment. That person was Nikolas Cruz.
