In 1979, 14-year old Leigh Corfman was approached by a man as she sat outside a courtroom with her mother. The man introduced himself as Roy Moore. Moore struck up a conversation with the teenager and her mother. He then offered to sit outside of the courtroom with the girl while her mother went inside for a child custody hearing. Moore, who was an Assistant District Attorney at the time, told the mother that the child shouldn’t have to watch the nastiness of a custody hearing. When Moore was alone with the 14-year old, he chatted with her and asked for her phone number. Days later, Moore met up with the 14-year old. He picked her up around the corner from her home in Gadsen, and drove her to his home in the woods about 30 minutes away. Once there, Moore kissed the girl and told her how pretty she was. Corfman said there was a second trip to Moore’s home which got more progressive, as Moore removed the girls clothes and touched her body and removed his clothes and had her touch him. Corfman said the two did not have sexual intercourse.
Stephanie Mccrummen, Beth Reinhard, and Alice Crites of The Washington Post (wapo), broke the groundbreaking story today about the Republican nominee from Alabam for a U.S Senate seat. Aside from Corfman, the story also says there were three other women, all who were between the ages of 16-18 at the time of the assaults, claim similar stories and experiences with Moore when he was in his 30’s. None of the claims involve sexual intercourse, but it does show a predatory behavior by a man in a position of authority. Moore has a history of being a Bible verse spewing, “Christian values”, 2nd amendment praising, Republican. Moore was suspended from the bench in 2003 for disobeying a federal judge’s order to take down a 5200 pound statue of The Ten Commandments in the lobby of the Judicial Building. Moore also once declared “God’s law will be publicly acknowledged in our court.” You can read the full story at The Washington post right here
Arizona Senator Jeff Flake (R) announced that he would not be seeking re-election next year. Jeff Flake didn’t plan on going out without a bang though. In a speech before Congressional Senators Flake scolded his party for being complicit with a president who was bringing the Country down. Conservative Republicans including John Mccain, and Senator Bob Corker agreed with Flake that enough is enough. Trump, Steve Bannon, and their deplorable followers took the announcement by Flake as a win for their team as they took to Twitter to claim that Bannon had pulled off another victory in his “draining the swamp” campaign after his short-lived career in the White House came to an end. Most people not caught up in the brain-washing Trump agenda saw Flake’s speech in another way. Flake, Corker, and Mccain are a few Republicans who are finally finding the courage to speak out against an obviously corrupt regime. As time goes along, the hope is that more will find the courage to speak out and hopefully take action and move toward impeachment. We will see.

How do you spell distraction to Trump’s hardcore base? H-I-L-A-R-Y and O-B-A-M-A. In it’s latest attempt to distract attention from an increasingly failing administration, House Republicans are launching two new investigations. Both centered around Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. As if investigating Trump-Russia ties weren’t time consuming enough, House Republicans lead by Devin Nunes want to open two new investigations.
USA Today (@usatoday) is reporting that Republican leaders of three House committees announced today that they are launching two separate investigations involving former Secretary Of State Hilary Clinton. One investigation will probe into why the Obama administration allowed a Russian company to acquire U.S uranium mines. The other will look into why the FBI decided not to pursue charges against Clinton for use of a personal email server.
Two topics that have been thoroughly investigated many times over the last four years with no results confirming. BUT, these are two theories that the Trump base wholeheartedly believe in. Especially the Hilary-Uranium one. Just the mention of Hilary Clinton and Uranium seems to rile the Trump base up substantially. The investigation, or talk of an investigation will be a welcome shifting of topics to the Trump base, who have been left with trying to defend the indefensible issue of Donald Trump disrespecting Myeshia Johnson, widow of U.S. patriot and deceased war hero, Sgt. La David Johnson.
